Submission Guidelines

Literasea is thrilled you would like to submit your work. We ask that you read through the guidelines carefully before sending us your writing.

Who Can Submit?

We publish writing and artworks from students and staff of the EUF, their partner universities as well as the Hochschule Flensburg.

What Do We Publish?

  • Poetry – max. three poems per submission, please
  • Fiction – maximum of 3000 words (e.g. Short Stories, Flash Fiction, Micro Fiction, Excerpts from longer projects/manuscripts)
  • Narrative Nonfiction – maximum of 3000 words (e.g. Memoir, Personal essays)

Spelling and Punctuation

If you are submitting in English, we ask that you are consistent in your spelling and punctuation. This means, if you are using American English spelling, you use American English punctuation and you are consistent throughout your piece.

Proofreading

We ask that your written submissions have been proofread prior to being sent to us. We will, of course, read through them, but we do not have the capacity to proofread every submission carefully. Please submit finished, polished work in a word document or any format which can be edited.

Languages

In general, we accept submissions in English and German unless otherwise stated in Upcoming Issues.

Artwork

Please send artworks as a PDF, PNG or JPG in cymk and 150dpi.
